Xuankong Si, Hanging Monastery near Datong, China by chuha on Flickr.
Surviving nearly 1400 years by being moved up the side of a gorge to escape floods, the Hanging Monastery is quite a sight, even if your toes are numb and your face is stinging from the blowing ice and snow during our visit.
In other pictures on flickr, there are loads of people there. I guess the key is to go when it’s too cold to enjoy for more than a few minutes.
